Almaden Pet Salon Terms of Service

1. Owner Responsibilities

  • You confirm you’re the sole owner of your pet and that all information (written or verbal) about their health/behavior is accurate.

  • Pets must be healthy and free of contagious illnesses (fleas, ticks, etc.) for 30 days prior to check-in. Proof of vaccinations (per CA law) will be requested.

  • Disclosure: By using services and leaving your pet with Almaden Pet Salon, Owner verifies that all the information provided to Almaden Pet Salon either in writing or verbally about the Dog is correct.

2. Risks & Liability

  • We’re not vets: Our groomers are skilled in grooming, not animal medicine.

  • No guarantees: Even with strict sanitation and supervision, pets may contract illnesses or sustain injuries in a shared salon environment.

  • Restroom breaks: Pets may be taken outside for bathroom needs; we’re not liable for escapes, injuries, or accidents during these breaks.

  • By using our services, you waive all claims against Almaden Pet Salon for:

    • Pre-existing conditions, stress-related incidents, or injuries caused by your pet.

    • Costs related to medical care (approved below) or transport.

3. Medical Emergencies

  • We’ll contact you first (unless urgent) if your pet needs a vet. If unreachable, we’re authorized to seek care, and you’ll cover all costs.

4. Late Pickup & Abandonment

  • Late Fees:

    • After 5:00 PM: $20 every 30 minutes.

    • After 7:00 PM: $300 flat fee for temporary holding (we’re not a boarding facility).

  • Abandonment: Pets unclaimed after 14 days will be reported to authorities. You’re responsible for all costs (including legal fees).

5. Pet Behavior & Damages

  • You’re liable for all damages (to staff, facilities, or other pets) caused by your pet.

  • Disclose aggression/health issues upfront. Failure to do so means you’ll cover all related costs (including legal defense).

6. Photo Release

  • We may take/post photos of your pet for marketing. Opt out by informing us at drop-off.

7. Payment

  • Accepted: Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover.

  • Due at pickup: Unpaid balances delay release of your pet.

  • Fees:

    • Returned checks: $40.

    • Late payments: 1.5% monthly interest.

    • Collections: You’ll cover attorney fees/costs.

8. Legal & Arbitration

  • Disputes go through arbitration in Santa Clara County, CA. Class actions are waived.

  • CA state law governs this agreement.

9. Severability

If any part of this agreement is deemed unenforceable, the rest remains valid. We’re not here to play legal Jenga—just keep things fair.

10. Force Majeure

We’re not liable for delays or closures due to wildfires, power outages, or other “Acts of Dog” (or God) beyond our control. California life, right?

11. Service Refusal

We reserve the right to refuse service for pets showing aggression, severe health risks, or owners who yell at our staff. Kindness is non-negotiable.

You must be 18+ to book services. No minors dropping off pets

12. Grooming Outcomes

We’ll do our best, but severely matted fur may require shaving. Stressed pets might get a “modified” haircut. No refunds for style preferences if safety trumps aesthetics.

13. Customer Property

Leashes, collars, or bowties left behind? We’ll hold them for 30 days, then donate them. Not responsible for chewed-up items.

14. Feedback & Complaints

Unhappy? Tell us within 24 hours. We’ll fix it free —no social media drama needed. (But if you DO post, tag us! 🐾
